I REALLY wanted to keep these pants...But the fit made it impossible to keep in either S or M.I am 5' 6", ~130 pounds, 35x28x39. so I ordered both size S and M to see which would fit best. I was super excited because I have a 686 jacket, and was looking forward to connecting the jacket to the pants in order to keep the snow off my back. Unfortunately, neither worked out. The construction is very weird. They sit more at your hips, which I feel would let the snow creep up your back pretty easily. But that aspect aside, the thing I hated the most was the butt. The size S fit perfectly in my legs. The length was good and it had that tailored look that is more feminine in nature. However, there was no room for my butt! I had a total wedgie, and the pants gapped in the back. I tried tightening the inner velcro straps to get rid of the gap, but then in addition to the butt being tight, the waist felt tight. So, I tried on the M. Whoa, so somehow the butt just barely increased in size but the legs jumped up like three sizes! They were WAY too long, and were no longer fitted. Super wide and bulky--and not wide in that cargo pants look--they just looked like I was trying to wear something made for a much bigger girl.Too bad, because I *loved* everything else about them. Super soft inside--I'd be tempted to just wear them without anything else! Loved the color. I got the diamond blue lagoon, which looks NOTHING like the Amazon picture. (I went to 686's website to get a better idea of the color--it's more of a rich teal, definitely not bright blue.) So that's why I gave it two stars instead of one...I think if you are a lucky girl with a small bum, these might work for you.Although the butt was way too small, I said this product fit "too large", because I felt that I should be able to wear an M. However, although the butt might have worked with the M (still rode up a bit), there was no way it was working with the size of the legs. These pants are everything I needed. I had 686 jacket so the connection option was nice. The closure is secure but easy to open with gloves and other apparel on. They kept me warm with just long Johns in 10-20 degree weather in tahoe, day and night snowplay. Easily movable in them and the zipper vents were key to my comfort. The price was impressively fair. Completely satisfied and will use these for a long time!Love love loved these pants!!! I was so warm and they didn't rip even through my 68304 falls. I wish they made butt padding for snowboardersFit way larger and baggier than expected! Was not impressed with the fit at all. Returned.Liked the color though so they got 2 pity stars.Love the fit. Very flattering.
