The pants work for snowboarding. Used in -20F weather (-40F with windchill) with two base layers, and it kept me dry and relatively ok on the legs. Use with Volcom jacket for the ziptech, and you won't get any snow down your backside either. Lots of pockets, good length and fit (5'6", 135lbs). I bought a size up and wore two base layers and crash pad pants underneath (for icy conditions). Very comfortable and the gore-tex was a must for super cold conditions. Highly recommend.
