We bought a size medium for our 9 year old, whom is admittedly a little tall for his age, but I’m afraid it might only fit him for a year or so. It’s a shame, because this jacket is great. It’s a true 2-layer jacket for kids...which is rare. My son hates the bulky kids junk that everyone sells, and was just layering under his team shell prior to buying this. The Volcom Vernon jacket let’s him rock a base layer and a mid layer under it without the bulk. Kept him toasty in the Vail back bowls in 14” of powder on a 15-20 degree day. It’s got a killer look too (vintage black)...and the yellowish sleeves are super easy to pick out of a crowd when you need to find your kid quickly. It also has a true helmet compatible hood. The most important thing? My son loves the jacket too.The only complaint I or my son has is the lack of pit zips. He gets a little hot when he has to hike a ridge or the park.Bought it for my grandson but it is so nice I would wear too if it fit me!We had to return for my son I got the large and it was super long on him.
