The warm liner pairs 400g of Thinsulate insulation with 3mm of wool felt for warmth without the bulk. The supportive 6oz leather upper has neoprene expansion darts for a snug, comfortable fit. The high traction Kenetrek K-Talon outsole provides serious grip in mud snow or dry ground. Rugged terrain and severe weather can make hunting in the backcountry brutal, but even the toughest of expeditions can become more enjoyable if you take good care of your feet. These boots aren't wonderful to walk in. They are comfortable and stay dry, but are heavy. For riding I love them. They run just big enough to fit a pair of thin liner socks and one of heavy wool socks. The Cowboy sole does a great job for what it is designed for. My feet stay warmer than with any other boot on longer rides in cold weather. I got the spurs and straps from Kenetrek also, and after a little bending they work well with these boots. I wear my Wranglers outside the boots in cold weather, chinks over the Wranglers, and I've never had snow get inside the boots. Even walking in deep wet snow it that soaks the jeans quick it hasn't been able to soak down inside the boot liners. Mine fit real tight around the calf at first, and I definitely wanted poly long johns on to prevent chafing around the top of the boot, but after they broke in they are still working great on their 3rd year. I am happy with them.
