I bought this to replace a previous lost Mountain Hardware down skirt. I loved it. Wore it all the time in winter on my way to the ski slopes or field work. I thought this would be perfect and it is not.1. It runs quite small. I sized up and still is incredibly tight on my thighs. It rides up when I sit down to the point where it’s inappropriate (I’m always wearing leggings under but still)2. It is much thinner than my previous one and not as warm.3. This cut is much less suited for outdoor activities. It’s quite cute in the city but loses a lot of functionality by being so form fitting.5’4”120 lbsUsually wear an XS, 24, 00 in bottomsBought an S, I should have got an MI bought this to wear for cold weather running. I'm 5'6" and usually wear a medium in skirts or skorts and ordered large after reading other reviews. Medium would have been too small. The large is snug over a pair of shorts and a little lose if naked. Because I sized up to get the right waist size it's a little long especially in the back and looks funny but it's comfy. I prefer more of a pencil fit to keep the wind from getting under it but it worked for me on a 38 degree morning over 4" compression shorts and a thong for an undie. It also fits over cold gear tights. This is a bit pricey for what you get.Yes it has stretchy side panels and it fits just fine, but for some reason, this skirt remains immoveable and restricting when walking and sitting.I wanted to exchange this for a SMALL size xtra small too small. Looks like a very nice product I am disappointed Amazon directed me to return and buy again would be easier. Unfortunately it was Black Friday special and now $25 dollars more I got bad advice on how to get a size to fit me at same pricePhoto made the skirt look a little close to knee length, but it is a tiny, short, lightweight skirt that wouldn't insulate at all. Sort of like a scarf for the hips. The fit was nice. For a down mini-skirt it's very nice and impractical.First one I bought, size small, fit fabulous! I’m 125 and 5’6 - slender. I loved it so much I bought a second in a different color. The second purchase (same size) fit differently. The waist and length were similar (slightly longer) but there was so much fabric in the front panel and hips it bunches up and makes my hips look extra wide. It moves and the leg space is slightly tighter. It’s almost like the butt side was reversed and was in the front because the back side fits slimmer when I turn it around. I would leave it there but the back is longer and the zipper doesn’t look right in the front.Pretty, but runs small. Ordered for my daughter in Alaska who said she wanted an insulated skirt, size medium. A review said if returned there is a hefty restocking fee. So, when the skirt was way too small for her but fit my 13 year old thin granddaughter, I gave it to her instead of the hassle of returning it and losing money. Looked great on her, but expensive, since I had already given her a gift. Also, really thin, doesn’t feel like it has any insulation, but maybe it does.I've had my eye on this skirt for quite some time. Finally ordered it. The medium fit just right in all the right places as long as I was standing up and walking. But when you go to sit down it's a different story. It is very tight around the legs and it immediately creeks up too high to be reasonably modest. The material is adorable, and the way the skirt is cut shorter in the front than the back is cute. I returned the medium and ordered a large thinking that a larger size might solve the problem. But the large was WAY too big everywhere and still was tight and crept up when I sat down.
