I'm 5'8", 175 and the Large size fits great - a bit long in the sleeve, but not obnoxiously. I was concerned going with a synthetic insulation over down, but this coat has not disappointed me. I live in suburbs of Chicago, so we get our fair share of single digit and below temperatures. I've worn it with a dress shirt underneath and not felt cold.I shoveled the driveway with a sweatshirt underneath in the teens and was sweating within 10 minutes. I sat through the Bears playoff game this season in 30s and below without feeling any discomfort. I tend to run pretty warm and am not bothered by the cold much, so take that for what it's worth. As for it's "water Resistant" status, I walked 2.5 miles in a constant drizzle, 40s perhaps outside, and never got wet underneath. I was comfortable the whole time. It also dries quickly and there's no down to soak up water and weight. It would be nice if it had a built in system or rolling itself into a pocket or something for travel, but it does fold into a very small size. In fact, I'm taking it on a trip to Florida end of January and I'm happy knowing it won;t take up much room at all in my suitcase. I just don;t want to return to Chicago mid-winter without a jacket at the airport.Especially for the cost point i this category of jacket, I don't thin you can wrong. The black is a nice color and the fit is good. I own a Marmot rain jacket and it has never let me down, so I'm hoping for the same experience with this jacket!
