Edit: These are Absolutely NOT rated to -22F, that is inaccurate by 30-35 degrees. With Raynaud's, I have to be very careful with insulation in the toe area and these are merely quilted nylon with a bit of synthetic felt, no way they would keep frostbite at bay. I have been wearing these only in 20F+ temps and they are fine at that range, but if your requirements are for colder temperatures, look elsewhere. I think these will be fine for spring slush and mud season. Also, the insoles are very flat and tough, like standing on a 2x4 if you are on your feet for any length of time. Add orthopedic insoles or arch support if you want walking and standing comfort.I took a chance on these to replace my beloved but worn out Skechers Storm Cloud Cumulus boots, I wanted something shorter and hoped I wouldn't have to sacrifice warmth. These are a little heavier (15 1/2oz. each boot) than the Skechers of course, but the soles are thick and have decent tread. They have a very strong rubber smell, be advised that you will need to let them off-gas for a while if you're sensitive to that sort of thing. They zip securely at the sides but are not tight around the ankle area, and there is a waterproof gusset behind the zipper to keep water from entering the boots. Quilted nylon on the outside, sort of a thin polar fleece material inside.
