working around house and yardI live on a farm with a large herd of Goats, 6 Horses, a pack of Dogs and various and sundry other Farm Critters. The menagerie generates a generous amount of "byproducts" which in the wet South gets combined with the rain and creates a considerable amount of barnyard muck that has to be traveled through on a daily basis. I've used rubber "Muck Boots" for decades, but these boots only make wearing them necessary when I have to wade through more than 3 or 4 inches of water. Otherwise these boots are the ticket. I have never gotten my feet wet even once, unless I step into a deep hole and "Dip" them, which will happen with any boot. They are warm in the Winter and don't overheat my feet in the hot Georgia Summers. As preventative maintenance, I clean and oil (By oil I mean using a waterproofing, oil & wax compound that I discovered several decades ago in Oregon and have been using ever since) the leather parts every 6 months or so. This may not be necessary, but I'm old and old school, so I take the extra precaution, just to make them last as long as I possibly can. For years I bought cheap boots and my feet suffered for my penny pinching. The fact that these boots are very reasonable is an added bonus. The "lugs" of the soles are deep and well defined enough to give you a good gripping surface on even the slipperiest surfaces....I can't speak to Oil on Concrete..... and I can navigate wet Georgia clay, soil and muddy slurry with ease. at 68 I'm no longer "as graceful as a young Gazelle", so this is an important factor in footwear for meAfter wearing my first pair every day in any and all conditions for over a year, I decided that they were of the quality that I have to have in work boots, and bought a second pair. Not because I needed them when I bought them, but to have them on hand when my first pair has worn out. I'm hard on footwear and always wear a pair of boots completely out before I change to a new pair. The second pair is still in the box in my closet awaiting the day I have to retire my current pair. I cannot recommend these boots highly enough, especially considering the fact that they don't cost an arm and a leg to purchase. This boot here is a great fall, easy winter, and cold spring boot. I live in a cold climate and these are fine for working in cold weather as long as you're not just standing around all day in 20F degrees or colder, but they kept me warm in those temps, walking and working. At about 55 degrees I switch to uninsulated. I've been wearing Georgia boots for 30+ years and they've always fit well, been very comfortable, and have stood up to working on everything from concrete factory floors to the abuse that comes from farming and logging. Get yourself an insulated pair and an uninsulated pair, oil them at least twice a year and you'll get many years out of each pair. I always have worn mine for at least several years each. Use a good mink oil applied with an old toothbrush once they break in and the leather just begins to look a little dry. Work the oil into those seams real good, get a good amount worked into all the stitching. Take care of your boots and they'll take good care of you. It's a lost art of caring for one's boots, but I have a pair of logger boots that are over 5 years old and are worn in the woods every day and they still look and feel great. I've never bought a pair of Georgia boots in the last 30 some years that have let me down. You wont go wrong with these. If they don't last you a long time check to see what you're doing wrong.Seem ok for the price. The sole doesn't appear to be stitched. Looks like a fake plastic stitch, so I assume they're glued. Not sure why they say their waterproof is guaranteed 6 months. You would think it would almost last the life of the boot. Maybe they're afraid to guarantee them any long than that lol. I've got two other pair of Georgia boots which cost double the price of these. One pair I've had for 10 years and they're pretty worn. Time will tell how well these hold upNever had a pair of Georgia boots before… I ordered a pair and wore them for 10 hour shift’s 6 days a week… very comfortable.. I just ordered a second pair …I love the boots. Wore them The next day after I received the delivery. I was worried about my feet hurting in New boots. Not the case at all. They wore fine all day. I wear a D but ordered a W to fit thick socks for winter. PERFECT fit with thick socks. The price was awesome. Much cheaper than my Ariat or Justin's. However they are not cheap in quality. We looked really hard to find an insulated boot that looked good. This is my 1st purchase of Georgia boots. I will be a returning customer !Warm and comfortable. I've got 6-7 each out of previous Georgia boots with pretty regular wear in late fall, all winter, and early spring plus some of that time being year round in warehouse work. My first season in these have me thinking they'll hold up just as well.Second time I've ordered..really good qualityA great boot.
